I have a widget in my blog’s side-bar, which list several postings, which readers have opted to view by themselves, the most often.
The main problem with this statistic, is that it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Any new reader may go to that widget, and simply click on a highly-ranked entry, out of curiosity. But if many readers are doing the same thing, that can also become the main reason, why those postings are the most-often chosen.
I could just remove this widget, if this phenomenon is bugging me.
But instead I’d like to point out to readers, that they additionally have a Search Field, which they can query, perhaps for subjects which are actually of interest to them.
